A word that describes something that is not what is seems. Such as a puppet show, where the audience, willingly or not, suspends it’s disbelief and views a world in which the puppets are seen to be Fate’s deciders. The existence of a hidden puppet-master controlling the action behind the scenes is typically denied. Traditionally, a Dickchenean puppet show would consist of a puppet clown being made to dance a dance of Death while the audience throws all their money at the puppet master.
Example usage in conversation:
Bob: Do you want to go see that new Dickchenean puppet show down town?
Alice: Nah, I think I’ll watch the re-run on the White House Channel instead.
President Obama is even worse than that Dickchenean bumpkin he replaced.
